Meet Rizwan Nurani

Rizwan Nurani

A graduate of the University of Washington, Dr. Rizwan D. Nurani holds a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology. He continued his education at the University of Washington School of Medicine, earning his M.D. with research honors. Subsequently, Doctor Nurani completed an internship with the Deaconess Medical Center Transitional and served as a resident in radiation oncology at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he secured the position of Chief Resident.

Dr. Rizwan Nurani is board certified in Radiation Oncology through the American Board of Radiology.  He is licensed to practice medicine in the States of California, Washington and Florida. Dr. Rizwan Nurani is actively involved in the professional community through the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the CyberKnife Society and the Radiosurgery Society. Through these organizations, Dr. Nurani maintains his place on the cutting edge of new technologies and treatments, offering his patients the highest possible level of care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Rizwan D. Nurani has published a wide range of chapters, studies, and abstracts. His work has appeared in The Journal of Urology, the Journal of Clinical Oncology and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology . He has published and presented studies on the use of MRI in treatment planning for cancer patients. He has presented at industry events and meetings including on the use of targeted radiation therapy for prostate cancer and the use of Stereotactic Radiosurgery.

Dr. Rizwan D. Nurani notes that his primary interest is, “to help patients navigate through their cancer diagnosis and to find ways to individualize their treatment.” His clinical skills include stereotactic radiosurgery, cyberknife radiosurgery, brachytherapy, image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT).
